You know that feeling when you stare at your bank account and you’re just like womp, womp, womp? Yeah, Katy Perry never has that.

^ A live pic of the musician looking at her bank balance, probably.

Thanks to an extremely impressive music career, a ton of endorsements, and an iconic Las Vegas residency under her belt, the 39-year-old pop star is making money faster than you can reluctantly say “swish, swish, bish.” Let’s get the breakdown, shall we?

Her Album Sales Are Wild

Okay, time to acknowledge the elephant in the room: Witness kinda flopped. She knows it, we know it, everyone knows it. But Katy’s overall album sales are massive. Per the Recording Industry Association of America, Katy has earned more than $120.1 million in digital singles (earning the number 9 spot after giants like Drake, Kanye West, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Eminem). Plus, she’s had at least six of her singles make $5 million EACH, including “Firework,” “California Gurls,” and “Roar.”

And with her new album 143 on the way, the celeb is no doubt going to add to her already impressive net worth.

She Just Sold Her Entire Catalogue for a Fortune

According to a September 2023 report from Billboard, Litmus paid $225 million (I repeat: $225 MILLION) for “the master recording royalties and music publishing rights” to One of the Boys, Teenage Dream, PRISM, Witness and Smile. I’m gonna need a moment.

Her Tour Sales? Beyond Impressive

Okay, again: The Witness Tour…not exactly impressive. But Katy’s Prismatic World Tour grossed more than $204.3 million (HOLY CRAP), her California Dreams Tour grossed $48.9 million (ALSO GOOD), *and* her Hello Katy Tour earned $1.3 million—which sounds small, but keep in mind she was a brand-new artist at the time!

FYI, Katy gets a nice cut from selling a buncha tour merch. Back in 2015, Forbes reported that “she’s averaged a staggering $20 per head per night in merchandise sales.”

And speaking of merch, her Play shirts are very cute, just saying:

And speaking of Play

She Got Paid a Lot for Her Las Vegas Residency

Katy’s iconic residency ran from December 29, 2021 through March 19, 2022, and she was reportedly being paid $168 million for the gig. I mean…wow.

She Makes a TON in Endorsements

Katy has had brand relationships with a gazillion companies that are all presumably paying her through the roof (although, as you know, the actual numbers are kept pretty private), including H&M, CoverGirl, and Proactiv. She also has her own line of perfumes and shoes. What, you don’t?

Let’s Talk Her Real Estate Portfolio

Katy owns (and flips!) a ton of real estate. In 2017, she dropped $19 million on a Beverly Hills home. That same year, she put one of her two Hollywood Hills homes up for sale for $9.5 million. And we can’t forget about the time she tried to buy a convent for $15 million and went to court with a buncha nuns. TL:DR: It’s a long story, and Katy ended up earning $5 million in damages.

Most recently in 2020, Katy and Orlando Bloom paid $14.2 million for a nine-acre estate in Montecito, California. Good! To! Know!!!!

And Then There’s American Idol

Prepare for your jaw to drop because Katy earned a reported $25 million for her hosting gig on American Idol. Her high paycheck caused some side-eye from other judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, who apparently earned way less. That! Said!!!! Katy’s seven-year run on the beloved series came to an end on May 19, but no doubt all that $$$ she raked in along the way contributed to her wealth.

So, What’s Katy Perry’s Total Net Worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, that would be a staggering $400 million, which is a whopping $70 million more than the figure we last reported in September 2023.

WELP! Gonna go cry at my bank account, so I’ll leave you with this amazing GIF once again:
